Web Conferences Galore!
September 10, 2009
Yesterday I watched The Nines. Today and tomorrow I’m watching The Forum. Next weekend I’ll be watching the International House of Prayer’s 10-year anniversary celebration. Who has time for this kind of stuff?
The Nines (a series of 9-minute presentations by church leaders from all over the place) produced about 9 hours of content. I was only able to watch a few of the short sessions, but I plan on watching every one once downloadable versions are made available. The Forum (a leadership conference sponsored by LifeChurch.tv) will have 10 sessions, and I’m not sure I’ll have time to watch too many of them. Unfortunately, those recordings won’t be free, so I’ll have to catch them while I can. Who knows how long IHOP’s conference will be.
For me, this is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Free, quality content from pastors and leaders for other pastors and leaders (or in my case, students). I’ve heard some critiques about the content of The Nines and how it’s all been said before. Personally, I couldn’t care less. Events like these—even though they aren’t the first of their kind, not by a long-shot—are phenomenal steps forward. I’m excited to see more of these things in the future.
P.S.: The Forum is still going on today and will be all day tomorrow. Don’t miss it.

I of course have classes right in the middle of those times…I've watched as much as I can though.

Yeah the whole middle of the day thing is not working out so hot. I definitely wouldn't mind a more mid-evening schedule.
