Statistics Tool Recommendations?

July 29, 2008

I’m looking for advice on what statistics tool I should use for this site. In the past I’ve used Statcounter, Google Analytics, WordPress’s statistics plugin, and the Firestats WordPress plugin. I’m kinda happy with Statcounter, but there’s got to be something better. Any recommendations?

This website uses IntenseDebate comments, but they are not currently loaded because either your browser doesn't support JavaScript, or they didn't load fast enough.

What are you looking for in a stats tool that the other ones you’ve tried didn’t provide? I’m using a combo of Analytics and AWStats currently for my sites and it works well..

Google gives me the nice graphs, and AWStats crunches the raw apache logs…

I probably should have been more specific, you’re right. I’m into the graphs that Google gives, but I’d like a service that better manages the numbers. I’m pretty interested in the incoming traffic and where it came from, as well as the time of my visits and other general stuff. I guess Statcounter puts out that stuff for the most part, but I feel like it could be handled better. Analytics gives all kinds of information; it just takes about 30 clicks to find it. Thanks for the AWStats suggestion.
