Lively from Google: Eh?

by Steven Rossi on July 24, 2008 in On the Web

Lively From GoogleI came across some new thing from Google the other day. It’s called Lively, and I’m not exactly sure what it is. It looks like a Second Life clone, but it also appears to be based on the idea of a chat room. In my younger days, I used to play The Sims Online (which was, in my defense, much cooler than The Sims, which I had never played), and we would describe it as a glorified chat room to people who were unfamiliar with it. It looks as though Lively is even more of a glorified chat room than TSO, which I think is pretty impressive. I’d like to try it out, but for now it’s Windows-only and I am Mac-only. Oh well. Maybe someday.
