The other day I was browsing Lifehacker‘s articles, and I found a link to a blog post that gave instructions on how to use a stapler in a way that I had never seen before. I asked around and found that about half of the people I asked hadn’t seen this before (and frankly, I think the other half were lying). I think it’s a very cool and practical tip.
The premise is that you push up the metal plate under the stapler and swing it around. This changes the way that the staple bends and creates a temporary “pinning” effect. It’s nice because the staple can then be easily pulled out from the paper. I’ll certainly be using this.

I came across this site and had to post it:

Maybe I am just ignorant, but I have never seen these before, and I think its a great idea. Why wouldn’t you make a hat with two rims? It keeps you out of the sun and in the shade and protects your neck. I’m not sure if I would wear one – actually, I think I would. This company is based in the UK, but I am sure someone around here makes these things. If this catches on, maybe we could start a new trend! Are you with me? Anyone? Anyone…?

It seems that I have to write one of these very so often just to vent. I grew up on the east coast, drove all over New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, and recently moved to Kentucky. I have been all over the country. I have seen people running others off the road, grooming their pets, and drying their hair using the heating vents. I have seen head-on crashes, people slamming into walls while texting, and my all time favorite – women in SUVs on cell phones. Now if you are a woman, who drives an SUV, and talks on the phone and reads this… don’t get all upset about this, it’s not all women. My mom is a very good driver. My girlfriend is a very good driver. My ex-girlfriend scared the crap out of me and should never be allowed to operate a motor vehicle. I work in Ohio, and in my 2 months in the area, I have very quickly decided Ohio needs to implement something to get these people off the roads, if not, I will take it into my own hands. (Send me a link to a vendor who sells Honda Civic mounted rocket launchers).

I have been meaning to blog about this for a long time now. I took my girlfriend to the Melting Pot in Cincinnati, dropped around $100, and had an awesome time. Eating here is truly a unique food experience. Great atmosphere, absolutely perfect for dates, or groups, and it takes you 3-4 hours to eat a meal. The best part is, you cook it yourself over fondue. The food was delicious, vegetables, fillet mignon, shrimp, all kinds of chicken and beef, cheese dips, fruit, and bread. I highly recommend it and would definitely go back, one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. They are a chain so they are all over the place, and if you like to eat and talk, this place is awesome. Check it out!

Yesterday I stumbled upon a plugin for WordPress called DoFollow. The basic idea is that it replaces the default functionality of WordPress comments in order to better promote community and socialization among users. By default, WordPress applies the NoFollow attribute to comments on posts, devaluing the links to commenters’ websites that appear with their comments. With the DoFollow plugin, this NoFollow attribute is removed. This allows for readers to comment on our blog, knowing that their responses are appreciated – and we’re willing to prove it by saying thank-you back to them. Of course, if we’re taken advantage of, we’ll do away with it, but with Akismet protecting comments and manual moderation that we employ, I’m pretty confident we’ll be alright. So thanks for reading, and this is our way of saying thank you back.
