Steven Anderson, a supposed pastor of the Faithful Word Baptist Church, recently preached a lovely sermon against peeing while sitting down which has been making its way around the blogosphere. I’ve seen this being discussed in a few places, and I had to mention it here. The sermon against peeing sitting down is a little funny, but I’m pretty sure it can’t be alright to laugh since this guy has got to be making fun of the Bible.
Anyway, the thing that is more interesting to me than the video is the church that Steven Anderson preaches in. I visited the Faithful Word Baptist Church website (above) and was amazed to find such a great amount of information. Despite the years of sermon archives and tens or hundreds of pages on the site itself, I am convinced they cannot be serious. The pastor’s claim to fame is that he is trying to memorize the entire Bible. Now come on.
I’d say it’s worth a look, though. I bet after checking it out you’ll have similar feelings. I’d feel bad if it was real, but it can’t be. It just can’t be. Let me know what you think.
This is a neat site I found, The Local, and it gives German news in English. While I’m not exactly up to speed on German news nor do I really care, its good for a story here or there.
“A German driver walked away from a car wreck unhurt after finding a soft landing in her own homemade birthday cake, police said on Friday.”
It seems as though Google has recently acquired a company that offers a lot of cool phone services. Apparently the purchase happened almost a year ago, so I’m not exactly sure how I missed it. I’ve been looking around on GrandCentral’s website for a while now, and it looks as though they have some really cool things. GrandCentral integrates your current phone service (be it a cell phone, land line, etc.) with the Internet to bring you call screening, conversation recording, voicemail notifications, personalized caller greetings, and many other interesting services. I signed up for the beta and am hopeful that they’ll get back to me sometime. The service definitely looks promising.
In two weeks I will be moving to Northern Kentucky. I really don’t have that much stuff, so I can’t really pack much. I have 4 days left at my job, a trip to New York, and then a week off. I don’t have a job yet down there. I should be able to find something. Have you ever just got up and moved out somewhere without knowing what you’re doing?
